The U14 Boys Strikers won the COSA Fall Classic over the weekend of November 5-6.  They did this with a clean sweep of the round robin division teams - only allowing two goals all season.  The scores were:

• vs. Schelotto and Pedula Academy 5-2
• vs. Magic Black '98 3-0
• vs. Ohio Elite 4-0
• vs. Dexter '98 3-0

Congratulations Boys!!

Over the weekend of August 13 & 14, the Strikers taveled to Indianapolis to participate in the Westside Invitational.  They easily advanced by winning all three of their preliminary games:

• Strikers vs. Lexington FC - W, 2-1
• Strikers vs. Westside Green - W, 3-2
• Strikers vs. United 1996 - W, 3-0

In the championship, the Strikers had to face Lexington again with a thrilling tie moments before the whistle.  However, they fell short in OT giving up a goal and failing to score again.

Great way to start the season!

 Over the weekend of October 1-2, the U14 Strikers traveled to Indianapolis to participate in the FC Pride Cup.  To advance to the finals, they beat:

• Louisville Soccer Alliance  2-0
• TKO Premier 4-1
• Bluegrass 98 2-1

In the championship, the boys dominated the field and missed many shots.  They were also scoreless in two overtime periods forcing them into PKs.  The boys lost a hearbreaker in PKs 3-4.  Good job boys!

Over the weekend of November 6-7, the U13 Boys Strikers participated in the COSA Fall Classic.  As champions of the green division, they advanced by beating:

• Beadling 2-1
• Michigan Alliance 1-0
• PSC Impact 4-0

In the finals they faced Beadling again and won 3-0.  Overall, the boys scored 10 goals and only allowed 1 (scored on a PK).

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Team Ohio sent three teams to the Best of the Midwest Tournament in Chicago, IL.  All three teams did very well and bad weather cut the weekend short.  The U12 Green team played up in the U13 Division.  They won 2 games and lost one and advanced to the finals to meet the U13 Strikers.  The U13 Strikers won all three of their preliminary games.  Unfortunately a tornado warning cancelled the championship game.  However, on Sunday, June 6, the teams met locally.  The U13 Strikers came out on top 2-0 in a competitive game.  Both teams are pictured below together.  The U13s are in white and the U12s are in black.

The U11 COSA Team Ohio Green team advanced to the semifinals.  However, this game was also cancelled due to the tornado warning.  Unfortunately, they were unable to play their remaining game(s).

Over Memorial Day Weekend, the U12 Boys Strikers traveled to the Philadelphia area to participate in the FC Delco Players Cup.  FC Delco hosted many of the top teams from the East Coast spanning Regions I, II and III.  In group play, the Strikers defeated the number one team from Maryland - The Baltimore Bays Hurricanes, 2-1 and Clarkstown SC from New York East 4-0.

In the quarterfinals, they faced Lower Marion SC from Pennsylvania East and won 2-0.  The semifinals, brought one of the more exciting matches of the tournament.  The Strikers played Dix Hills from New York East.  After ending regulation and two overtimes with a 2-2 score, they moved on to penalty kicks and advanced when the Striker's goalkeeper stopped the opponent in sudden death.

In the championship game, the Strikers played the number one team from Florida - South Florida Elite and won 3-2 in an exciting come from behind win!

Over the weekend of April 17 and 18, the Strikers traveled to Louisville, KY to participate in the Javanon Cup.  They boys played 11v11 and had great success.  They advanced to the finals winning all three games against:  Tennessee United Red, Canton Celtic Black and Javanon.  In the finals, they had a re-match with Canton Celtic, winning 1-0.  The boys scored 11 goals and only allowed 2 all weekend.
