U-11 Celtics reach finals in Novi (Michigan) Jaguar Invitational May 9-10

The U11 Celtics had an incredible run in the Novi Jaguar Challenge Cup May 9-10 in Michigan. The boys won their preliminary group with wins over Phoenix Soccer 98 (Celtics 7:2 Phoenix) and Livonia YMCA Fire FC (Celtics 4:0 Fire), and a tie with Hamburg United 98 (Celtics 1:1 Hamburg).
As fate would have it, the Celtics were matched up with Hamburg United for a second time in the semifinals later that same day and the boys settled the matter once and for all with a decisive 3-0 victory (Celtics 3:0 Hamburg).
The championship game proved to be a thrilling battle, both teams pretty evenly matched. The game was ultimately decided by a penalty kick in the opening minutes. Unfortunately, the Celtics came out on the losing end of a 1-0 decision to Jackson, Michigan’s Rush Central.
